These days, there are three main kinds of batteries that are commonly used in power tools and other portable devices: nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal-hydride, and lithium-ion. Each of them has its own pros and cons. Nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries appeared nearly half a century ago. Gradually, they became a rugged, inexpensive, and durable solution that can operate in rigorous working conditions and perfectly withstand deep discharge, which makes them a good choice for power tools. However, their memory effect, relatively low energy density, and high self-discharge can bring some inconveniences, especially when the device is not used regularly.

Meanwhile, the need for higher energy densities and non-toxic materials led to the development of nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) batteries. However, to a certain extent, their higher capacity and better eco-friendliness were obtained at the expense of a shorter lifespan, yet their self-discharge is even higher than that of NiCd models. Actually, they were improved in the last years, but some limitations remained. If you want to get rid of them completely, consider getting a modern lithium-ion battery. Although it's usually the most expensive option, numerous advantages make it a good choice for many applications.

A lithium-ion battery has no memory effect and perfectly keeps the charge. Also, its energy density is twice higher than that of a standard NiCd pack, which allows for designing powerful yet compact and lightweight batteries and charging stations. In our online store, you will find batteries of all the abovementioned types to power your devices and meet your personal preferences. Offered in many different designs, our batteries have various voltages and capacities. Many of them feature special, patented solutions allowing them to withstand impacts and harsh jobsite conditions, avoid overheating, and resist condensation. Compatible with numerous power tools available on the market, our batteries will provide optimal performance for years to come.
