The history of Tuthill Transfer Systems dates back to 1892, and today it is a leader in manufacturing high-quality industrial products specializing in rotating equipment such as pumps and meters. After acquiring Ossian Engineering Company in 1961, the Fill-Rite brand was introduced with its innovative and thoroughly developed fuel and meter product lines, which became the core ones in the assortment soon after the introduction.

The product line was augmented after another acquisition – the Tuthill Corporation purchased Fluid Power Products in 1998, and the series named Fill-Rite Precision Meters was created. Thanks to this line, Fill Rite pumps became known as the most accurate and reliable metering systems for transferring fuels, liquids, oils, etc. Today, the company manufactures vacuums, blowers, and more, but pumps remain its core products; Fill Rite fuel pumps have been trusted for over half a century for their rugged dependability.

Tuthill always seeks new options in development and innovation. The very first innovation for the company, as well as in the whole pump industry, took place when they bought a clay quarry and tried to figure the best way to lift the clay from the quarry bottom and deliver bricks to construction sites. Engineers developed a small internal gear pump to inject fuel oil into the truck boiler. Since then (1927), the Tuthill pump became a separate entity, and with their enormous experience and knowledge about pumps and transfer systems, they have been continuously improving their design for almost a century already.
