If you work as an electrician, at a chemical plant, or in oil, gas, pulp, or paper industry, you can be exposed to the risk of electric arcs, flash fires, or combustible dust explosions. To keep yourself safe, you have to wear fire resistant clothing, which will protect you in case of hazard. The types of clothes and standards vary depending on jobs and kind of industry, but generally, if clothing resists ignition and/or self-extinguishing, it is considered flame resistant (FR). Apart from that, FR apparel must be capable of resisting catching fire and melting.
All FR clothes are treated with special flame resistant chemicals to slow down the burning process. There are certain standards this kind of clothing needs to meet, so it undergoes thorough tests and checks. As for arc flash clothes, they undergo even more tests than FR apparel to ensure that the fabric is able to block a sufficient amount of energy to protect the wearer from serious injuries. On our virtual shelves you can choose top-of-the-line flame resistant and arc flash clothing, which has been tested from top to bottom to make sure it meets the highest safety standards.
