Whether you are a DIYer, hobbyist, or professional worker, many jobs require precision. While some measurements can be easily taken through tools that are common in every household or workshop, others require specific precision instruments such as hole, drill, and wire gauges. Hole gauges refer to a collective category that includes several types of tools for measuring the bore of a hole. Drill gauges are handy tools to identify the drill bit and rod sizes quickly and accurately. Wire gauges, finally, are used to measure the cross-sectional areas of a wire, in order to determine the amount of electric current that a wire can carry safely and without getting damaged.
Small hole gauges are a sort of inside calipers; they are introduced into the hole, adjusted to fit it, and eventually measured with a caliper. Drill gauges are steel plates acid-engraved with the hole sizes and decimal equivalents. Wire gauges are circular steel plates carrying up to 36 gauge sizes growing incrementally. Most of these tools follow the SAE standards to ensure consistent measurement. In our online store, there is a large choice of quality hole, drill, and wire gauges for many applications.
