One of the most widespread cutting tools, drill bits are essential in a variety of drilling applications. They come available in many different types and can be used with various materials, including metal, solid wood, masonry and even glass. If you’re looking for compatible bits for your rotary hammer or standard hammer drill for cutting holes in such materials as concrete and masonry, we have you covered. In our online store we stock the greatest selection of masonry and hammer drill bits in various styles and sizes to fit your needs. All hammer drill bits we provide are made from top-grade materials to guarantee exceptionally long life and minimal wear.
Choosing bits that work perfectly with your hammer drill can be a difficult task to do. There is often a little confusion, because hammer drill bits use special shank types to easily slide within the chuck while hammering. To ensure that the bit shank fits the hammer chuck, it’s essential for you to know the type of the chuck system your tool has. The most common are three main chuck/shank types; these are SDS/SDS-Plus (completely interchangeable), SDS Max and Spline Drive. The type of the chuck system indicates the diameter of the bit shank as well as the type of grooves. This means, for example, that even if SDS hammer drill bits have different diameters, lengths, etc., all of them will fit the SDS/SDS-Plus chuck system because they have the same shank diameters and groove types.
