It has a fully extended copper sidewall to reduce side attraction when going into narrow metal opennings to retrieve parts. You also can put on patented "Supercharger" and increase the power up to 50%, allowing the 3822 to pick up 3.3lb. In addition, the "Supercharger" completely changes the character of the magnetic field; it sharply increases the side attraction which is very useful for "sweeping" a large area for missing small parts, or fishing for something in the dark.
